Mickey Fremont started surfing on Long Island in 1964 and still continues to surf. In 1966 he graduated High School and drove to Newport Beach CA to go to college. He started shaping boards shortly after in 1969 and moved to San Diego. Through the 70s he shaped and sold boards in surf shops in California, New York, New Jersey, Texas, and more. He also shaped boards for Tom Overland surfboards and Gordon and Smaith among others. He shaped alongside some legendary shapers like Donald Takayama, Mike Diffenderfer, Ben Aipia, Jeff Ho, and many others. Mickey is named in the Encyclopedia of surfing, along with Jeff Ho, for their surfboard designs.
